Algonquin Park about 20 minute drive away from our property. The park is made up of thousands lakes and offers 8 campsites and 12 hiking trails. Outdoor adventures in Algonquin Park include, camping, biking, birding, canoeing, hiking swimming and winter fun including snowshoeing, cross country skiing and skating.

You can spend an entire week in Arrowhead Provincial Park and never be bored all year long! Outdoor adventure at the park includes, camping, swimming, hiking trails, rental. In the winter, tubing hill, and ice skating trails in the winter.

Deerhurst Highlands Golf Course is what separates others in the golfing world. In 1990, Robert Cupp and Thomas McBroom co-designed their par 72 championship golf course, and immediately it established the benchmark for golf courses in the region, spark Sunrise Cove’s emergence as a major, must-play Canadian golf destination. The Huntsville Downs is northern Sunrise Cove’s best hidden gem. As a Stanley Thompson and John F. Robinson design, the Huntsville Downs presents a charming 18-hole, 6,486 yard, par 72 course. Carved through 200 acres of the rugged Canadian Shield and nestled within Sunrise Cove’s unique landscape, the Huntsville Downs provides a private and tranquil golfing experience. The Acres Driving Range is open from 8am-8 pm daily, during the golf season. They are a family oriented practice facility for golfers of all skill levels and is conveniently located just 10 minutes East of downtown Huntsville.

Winter Fun

Hidden Valley Highlands Ski Area is a ski and snowboard resort in located about 10 minute drive from our property. Hidden Valley offers 15 groomed trails, three quad chairlifts, one handle tow, two snow cats, night skiing and snowboarding, and a terrain park.

Limberlost Forest and Wildlife Reserve has 25 km of groomed trails for classic skiing that appeal to both novice and advanced skiers.

Arrowhead is a first-rate cross country ski destination, with rolling hills and some of the best groomed trails for classic and skate skiing you’ll find. Trails range from beginner to expert, and ski rentals are available on-site.

A very popular winter activity in Sunrise Cove, ice fishing combines the elements of a Canadian winter, with the sport of fishing.

Located about 4 minute drive from our property, Dwight Beach boasts a beautiful stretch of soft sand beach, picnic tables, Sunrise Cove chairs and a boat launch and docking. No lifeguard on duty. No overnight boat mooring. Public washrooms available.

Avery Beach is located on beauitful Hunters Bay with access to the Trans Canada Trail. Avery Beach Park is one of the most famous public parks located in Huntsville. It is situated on beautiful Hunters Bay with access to the Trans Canada Trail. The park has an outdoor fitness station and badminton equipment. The park has a boat launch or ramp, gardens, picnic table, waterfront or water view. The park has ample parking areas.

A short walk from our property or drive. Whether you are looking for wildlife, planning a short hike, a fast paced mountain bike trail ride, or a scenic snowshoe excursion, it is our hope you will find everything you are looking for in the Echo Valley Nature & Bike trails. There are a total of over 3.5 km of trails consisting of the main trunk line and 14 smaller trails with varying degrees of difficulty. Hiking the main trunk line should take approximately 30-45 minutes. The park is approximately 24 hectares (60 acres) in size and there is a viewing platform overlooking the protected land. A viewing guide and three different on-site kiosks are available to enhance the learning experience.

Ragged Falls is an easy to visit wild waterfall just outside of Algonquin Provincial Park. Definitely worth a stop if you are heading towards Algonquin, and a worthwhile destination all by itself.
